We partnered with the city of San Fernando Parks and Recreation Department to host the first of our Routes to Parks trips, from San Fernando to Malibu Creek State Park.

For the event, we joined participants for a three-mile hike to Century Lake and a mindful activity, in which participants shared that they felt calmer and peaceful (we did, too!). On our hike, we discussed native, non-native and invasive plants and species, the 7 “Leave No Trace” principles, safety, the geology of the area, and more. We enjoyed a day with community members, including students from LA College Prep Academy exploring tide pools at Leo Carrillo State Beach. Thank you to Parks California and the California Coastal Conservancy for making these trips possible. Stay tuned for news of upcoming trips soon!
