The Goal:
Our primary objective through this program is to foster meaningful connections and enhance the lives of community members from Panorama City and North Hills. We aim to reach out and engage with 1900 individuals with a projected timeline extending until Spring 2026.
Activities in and around Panorama City:
Recognizing the importance of a strong sense of community, we have curated a diverse range of activities planned to take place within the community of Panorama City. From educational workshops and Wellness Workshops, our intent is to facilitate positive interactions with nature and local nature sites, ignite conversations that motivate us to advocate for better and green communities and strengthen the bonds that unite us as a community.
Nature Trips beyond Panorama City:
In addition to community-based activities, we embrace the significance of connecting with nature and its profound impact on overall well-being. Hence, our program encompasses regular nature trips, providing community members with the opportunity to explore and appreciate the natural beauty that surrounds us. These excursions are free and aim to offer a refreshing respite from daily routines and allow individuals to immerse themselves in the tranquility of nature. Transportation, bilingual interpretation, and meals are included!
Youth Focus:
With an understanding of the crucial role that our youth play in shaping the future, we have made a commitment to allocate 50% of our programming efforts to cater specifically to the younger population in the San Fernando Valley (SFV). By engaging with young individuals, and offering enriching experiences, educational opportunities, and mentorship, our aim is to empower and inspire the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and catalysts for positive change. Through fostering connections, facilitating personal growth, and embracing the natural world, these youth will undoubtedly pave the way for a stronger and more vibrant SFV.
The Funding Source:
This program is funded by the Outdoor Equity Grants Program, created through AB 209 and administered by California State Parks, Office of Grants and Local Services. The Outdoor Equity Grants Program (OEP) improves the health and wellness of Californians through new educational and recreational activities, service learning, career pathways, and leadership opportunities that strengthen a connection to the natural world. OEP’s intent is to increase the ability of residents in underserved communities to participate in outdoor experiences within their community, at state parks, and other public lands.
