Created by Nature For All’s Environmental Careers Pathways Apprentices.
The California Native Plant Almanac was created by six Outdoor Education Apprentices from Nature For All’s Environmental Careers Pathways (ECP) program in collaboration with Test Plot.
Through research and writing, the apprentices developed this educational resource to share knowledge about California’s native and invasive plants, their ecological importance, their relationships with wildlife, and their role in habitat restoration. The almanac also explores traditional Indigenous knowledge and cultural connections to plants.
This project provided apprentices with an opportunity to strengthen their environmental knowledge, research, writing, and science communication skills while creating a resource for the broader community.
