As we take a look back at 2019 and ahead to 2020, we see a growing and thriving community.

Internally, we are growing and thriving as an organization; our programs and advocacy efforts have expanded by leaps and bounds and we are excited to become a full-fledged 501c3 in 2020!

Our commitment to our work comes down to people and the environment and a focus on serving our community. The most gratifying part of our work is hearing first-hand about how our programs are having a positive impact on the overall health of our communities — socially, physically and mentally.

Our community members inspire us, from those we meet in parks and on trails to those in our classrooms and offices for local, state, and federal officials.

Our community members motivate us to protect our public lands and resources and create even more natural spaces. In 2019, we had 174 meetings with elected officials, collected 9,207 signatures for petitions, and added 26 Leadership Academy graduates to the 816 supporters actively engaged in the San Gabriel Mountains Forever/Nature for All programs.

Our community members count on us to connect those in underserved and park-poor areas with access to public lands and natural spaces. In 2019, 769 individuals participated in 37 hikes in the San Gabriel Mountains, and more than 400 people from all over LA County participated in our “All Aboard for Nature” transit-to-trails event.

Our community members support us as we work every day on building a diverse base of support to ensure that everyone in the Los Angeles area has equitable access to the wide range of benefits provided by nature. There’s no way around it — we would not be here without community support.

Before 2019 comes to a close, we ask that you make a tax-deductible donation to support our work in 2020 to help our communities continue to thrive. We wish you a happy new year, and thank you for your continued support!
