The Nature for All Coalition invites you to show support for public lands in Duarte, CA to defend the Roadless Rule.
Join us on Monday, May 18, 2026, in Duarte, CA to help defend the Roadless Area Conservation Rule (also known as the Roadless Rule).
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Roadless Area Conservation Rule and since its inception nearly 59 million acres of forests across the country have been off limits to industrial logging and mining projects. But, last summer, the administration launched an attack against the Roadless Rule with a proposal to repeal it entirely.
If they succeed in finalizing their proposal, it will endanger nearly 4 million acres of wild forests in California alone, threatening wildlife, recreation, clean water and much more.
When the Roadless Rule was first created, the Forest Service held more than 400 public hearings across the country and received millions of public comments. People showed up, spoke out, and demanded lasting protections for their forests.
Now, the Forest Service wants to rescind the Roadless Area Conservation Rule, we expect, without holding a single public hearing. Across the nation, community town halls like ours are being held to ensure that community voices are heard.
Rescinding the Roadless Rule would open nearly 60 million acres of national forest to logging, mining, and other extractive purposes–with negative impacts to clean water supplies, wildfire resilience, wildlife habitat and outdoor recreation.
Join the LA Townhall on May 18th from 3:30-6:30pm to make your voice heard. Come and learn more about the Roadless Rule, how it helps protect our public lands, and provide public comment (spoken or written).
We need you with us. Please register online to let us know you’ll be there.
